╭Wild Deer
The inspiration for this project comes from a pot plant on my desk. It seems the plant somehow could change the way it looks when I’m in a different mood. The research on the interplay between brain, mood and color has affirmed that what we see is not directly dictated by our eyes, but processed by our brain. The mood, color and plant all exerts influence on each other. So I looked into color psychology, and how plant can affect human moods, and it turns out that although globally people’s interpretation of colors is becoming homogenized and universalized, the regional variation remains. In China particularly, our perception and expression of color differs greatly from those in the West. Traditionally, the use of color and expression of feelings in China have long been subdued, and reserved. So I set out to visualize how emotions are understood in China.
